Clemson has extended an early offer to junior QB Zerrick Cooper (6-3 195) of Jonesboro, GA. Cooper is building a strong relationship with the Tiger coaching staff and is very interested in the program.
"I've already visited twice and I like it a lot," he said. "I love the atmosphere and what they have to offer."
Clemson is showing strong interest in Cooper and he likes what he is hearing from the Tigers.
"They told me they like my leadership, teamwork and my throwing ability," Cooper said. "They told me they like my footwork and how I get along with the players (at Clemson)."
Never miss a local story.
The Tigers join Miami, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Tennessee, NC State, Virginia Tech, Nebraska and West Virginia as his offers. His other visits have been to Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee.
"North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee all stood out to me," Cooper said. "I love their atmospheres and they're all pretty much telling me the same thing Clemson is about my footwork."
He plans to attend the Georgia-Clemson game to kick off the season.
"Georgia is home-sweet-home," he said. "I talk to coach (Mike) Bobo a lot and we get along great."
Last season Cooper was 81 of 153 with over 1,200 yards passing, 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
He does not have any favorites.
