Junior RB Tavien Feaster (6-0 193) of Spartanburg ran thru defenses last year to the tune of 1557 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also caught 50 passes for 746 yards and 12 scores. And Feaster is off to a fast start this season rushing for nearly 150 yards in the season opener two weeks ago. And fast Fester is as he is a state champion sprinter as well.
Virginia offered Feaster Monday night joining a growing list of schools that will pursue him over the next several months. Clemson and USC also are on his offer list. Others are Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Penn State and North Carolina. Feaster has not formulated a favorites list at this point. For that matter, he hasn't given his recruiting much thought.
"I'm just getting started," he said. "The coaches just started talking to me and I'm in no rush. I'm looking for a place where I will feel comfortable playing, a great environment and a place where I can make a difference for the team."
Feaster has been to Clemson and USC for camps and regular visits and said there's no favorite between the in state schools. Bur he said Clemson and Auburn have "been on me hard. Clemson, Auburn, North Carolina and Tennessee are stepping up with big time interest."
Feaster said he doesn't have any plans right now to take in a game this Saturday. He wants to narrow his list at some point "so as not to hold up too many scholarships," but he has no timetable for that or for a decision.
