On the eve of his first official visit, DE Sam Montgomery (6-5 240) of Greenwood met Thursday with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.
"It went pretty good, great," Montgomery said. "He talked about what Clemson had to offer me. He wants me to make an official visit there. Who knows? We'll think about it."
Swinney was the only head coach to see Montgomery this week. Recruiters from USC, Michigan, North Carolina, LSU and Tennessee also visited him this week. Montgomery will make an official visit to Michigan this weekend. He will go to North Carolina the following weekend. He is also planning to take official visits to LSU, Oregon and Tennessee at this point.
Montgomery took an unofficial visit to USC before the bowl game and he said he has no plans for an official visit with the Gamecocks. Montgomery said right now LSU and Tennessee are tied as his favorites.
