Hall, Freeman, Parker recognized

Clemson safety Rashard Hall and center Dalton Freeman have been named first-team freshman All-Americans by College Football News. Quarterback Kyle Parker was named to the second team.

Hall ranks 13th in the nation and second in the ACC in interceptions with six - tied for the third most in Clemson history by a freshman. The redshirt freshman from St. Augustine, Fla., had one interception in four consecutive games at midseason to tie a school record. He has 59 to rank sixth on the team.

Freeman, of Pelion, started each of the past eight games at center. Clemson won each of his first six starts, and the Tigers averaged 33 points per game in the contests he started.

Parker started all 13 games. The native of Jacksonville, Fla., is tied for first in the nation for wins among freshman starting quarterbacks with eight, a Clemson record. Parker completed 197 of 355 passes for 19 touchdowns and 2,385 yards

Orange Bowl to honor Jeff Davis. The Orange Bowl Hall of Fame will induct three members this year for their impact on the FedEx Orange Bowl. College Football hall of famers Jeff Davis of Clemson, Charlie Ward of Florida State and Chris Zorich of Notre Dame will be inducted during the Orange Bowl on Jan.

Davis made 24 tackles in the 1982 Orange Bowl against Nebraska and was named the game MVP as the Tigers defeated the Cornhuskers 22-15 to claim the national championship.
