CLEMSON – Clemson freshman football player Brandon Thomas was arrested over the weekend and charged with public disorderly conduct in Spartanburg, according to the Anderson Independent Mail.
Thomas was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Facility at 1:48 a.m. Sunday morning and released five hours later on a bond of $262, according to the Spartanburg County Detention Facility web site. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Clemson sports information director Tim Bourret said coach Dabo Swinney was scheduled to meet with Thomas when he returned for spring semester classes on Wednesday, the Anderson paper reported.
Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive tackle from Dorman High School, was a backup this past season. He played left tackle and left guard.
