Looking is over for Djitte
After anxious weeks in the recruiting of 6-foot-10 Sidy Mohamed Djitte, Clemson’s patience paid off Saturday afternoon with a commitment from the native of Senegal.
Djitte was thought to be a practical lock to Clemson after his official visit in April. But he decided to visit Cincinnati and Memphis, and that kept coach Brad Brownell and staff on edge.
The Tigers gained their second big man for the 2013 class.
“It’s a great fit for Sidy,” said Chris Lattimer, Djitte’s coach at Northwood Academy in Fayetteville, N.C. “With his size and length, above-average shot blocking and rebounding, he can help at the five.”
Djitte averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds per game last season.
“Defensively, I think he’ll be good for them,” Lattimer said. “He needs to work on a go-to move and a counter move.”
Djitte will sign his letter of intent early next week and is the fourth recruit for the 2013 class.
