For the third consecutive year, five Atlantic Coast Conference schools will open the NCAA Division I baseball tournament at home. This year, though, Clemson will not be one of them.

The Tigers will be on the road this weekend when regional play begins. They will find out where they go and who they play Monday at noon.

Clemson went 0-3 in the ACC tournament, hurting its chances of hosting. On the bright side, Garrett Boulware was named to the all-tournament team as the catcher. Boulware went 4-for-13 (.308) with a homer and double in three games.

LSU 5, VANDERBILT 4 (11)

At Hoover, Ala., pinch-hitter Chris Sciambra’s single in the top of the 11th inning scored Jared Foster and lifted LSU past Vanderbilt in the Southeastern Conference tournament championship game.

NORTH CAROLINA 4, VIRGINIA TECH 1

At Durham, N.C., Skye Bolt drove in two runs and North Carolina beat Virginia Tech 4-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game.

ELON 6, THE CITADEL 5

At Greenville, Elon trailed in every game of the Southern Conference tournament, but won five in a row, including Sunday’s win against The Citadel, to claim the automatic bid to the NCAA regionals.

TAMPA 12, COKER 4

At Cary, N.C., No. 3 Coker dropped its opening game of the NCAA Division II Baseball National Championship to No. 1 Tampa.

With the loss, Coker (38-15) drops to the elimination bracket, where they will play Grand Canyon on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Fico Kondla led the Cobras at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and a run scored.
