Clemson must replace all three of its weekend starters for the 2018 season. Tigers coach Monte Lee has chosen the first three pitchers that will get a shot.
Clemson released its starting rotation for opening weekend on Tuesday and lefty Jacob Hennessy will open the year as Clemson’s Friday-night start.
Righty Brooks Crawford will be the starter on Saturday, while lefty Jake Higginbotham will start on Sunday.
Hennessy, a Dorman product, is a sophomore who finished 2-1 with three saves and a 3.82 ERA in 26 appearances in 2017.
Never miss a local story.
Crawford, a junior from Georgia, was 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA in 17 appearances last year.
Higginbotham, a redshirt sophomore, was 3-0 with a 4.59 ERA in eight appearances in 2017.
The Tigers will open the season by hosting William & Mary at 4 p.m. Friday. Saturday’s game will be at 2 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, while first pitch for Sunday’s game is at 3 p.m.
