JT Horton will no longer be the coach of Clemson’s women’s golf program, Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich announced Friday.
It came days after news broke that an investigation revealed members of the team described the environment as “hostile.”
“We appreciate the work Coach Horton did during the inaugural seasons of our women’s golf program,” Radakovich said. “But we’ve made the decision to move in a new direction.”
Horton has led the program since its inception in 2011, leading the Tigers to NCAA Tournament berths in two of three seasons.
Clemson announced an immediate search for a new coach.
“With our facilities and the wealth of talent in the area, I feel confident we’ll find a great coach to lead this program into the future,” Radakovich said.
