Gamecocks move up in Baseball America Top 25, official RPI ranking

South Carolina moved up two spots in the latest Baseball America Top 25 and four positions in the official NCAA RPI rankings.

The Gamecocks (42-14) are No. 15 in the top 25 released on Monday. They are now No. 8 in the NCAA RPI rankings also released Monday.

The big road series win over Vanderbilt has placed the Gamecocks right back into the hunt for a top-eight national seed when the NCAA tournament announces the 64-team field a week from today.

USC opens SEC tournament play Wednesday night (time TBD) against the winner of Tuesday's game between Mississippi State and Georgia. The Gamecocks did not play MSU this year but lost a 2-1 series to Georgia.
