Connor Shaw, South Carolina’s all-time winningest quarterback with 27 wins, had a few remarks for the team and fans after the Gamecocks’ overtime loss to Tennessee on Saturday night.
On approximately 20 players and coaches staying around for the alma mater:
The Alma Mater is about pride in the University you represent & the respect of past players. Damn shame. FOREVER TO THEE.— Connor Shaw (@cmshaw9) November 2, 2014
Never miss a local story.
And on fan reaction to the loss:
Some of the coaches & players being blamed are the same who were a huge part of winning 33 games in 3 years. Don't be spoiled by success!— Connor Shaw (@cmshaw9) November 2, 2014
Frustrated, sure. But most of the guys in that locker room are the guys I battled with every Saturday. I will defend them every time!— Connor Shaw (@cmshaw9) November 2, 2014
Shaw left Columbia last year fourth in career passing yards with 6,074 to go along with 56 touchdown passes, second-most in school history. He is now a backup with the Cleveland Browns.
