Steve Spurrier and his staff are expected to receive raises tomorrow, as The State first reported this morning (Here). The move was expected and the actual vote should be a mere formality.
What is unexpected – and still fluid, I might add, as nothing’s ever over in the coaching carousel – is for South Carolina’s staff to remain intact for the first time under Spurrier. That made me think of all of the other coaches who have come and gone since Spurrier took over in 2005.
Steve Spurrier Jr. is the only assistant from the original staff remaining. Due to my extensive collection of old media guides, take a walk down memory lane:
Original staff, 2005

Hill, Stockstill, Thompson leave; Fred Chatham, Robert Gillespie, Brad Lawing arrive (Lawing started his second stint at USC in 2006)
Wommack leaves; Shane Beamer arrives

Wolford leaves; Shawn Elliott arrives
