All things Gamecocks, especially basketball and football

Was curious to see how the Gamecocks looked after not leaving Columbia until 6 p.m. Friday and arriving at the hotel at 10:15 p.m. Pacific Time. They had to be at the arena at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The answer?

Fresh. Bright-eyed. Chipper.

Most of the players were killing time before practice began by playing hangman on the locker room white board.

Aleighsa Welch says she slept on the plane – a skill I’ve never mastered. The rest of the team concurred.

Plus, there’s no time for rest. Adrenaline is the only thing needed these days.

It’s tournament time.

Survive and advance.
