USC left-hander Michael Roth was named SEC Pitcher of the Week, the third straight week a Gamecock pitcher has won a conference award.
The junior limited the Vanderbilt to one run on three hits while striking out eight in a 3-1 win on Friday. The Commodores came into the weekend as the top hitting team in the conference.
This season, Roth leads the SEC with an 8-1 record, a 1.24 ERA and 65.1 innings. His 62 strikeouts is third best.
Colby Holmes was SEC Pitcher of the Week last week, while Forrest Koumas was the conference Co-Freshman of the Week two weeks ago.
