Say the word “Omaha,” and several things come to mind.
One, of course, is college baseball. The other has to be steak.
And when people from across the country descend on the city for the College World Series, they head out in search of prime Nebraska beef. One local hot spot is The Drover, an institution that’s famous for its whiskey steaks.
The restaurant at the 73rd Street locale begins to fill up as soon as the teams, and the fans that follow them, arrive in town. Those dining Thursday night included USC assistant coaches Chad Holbrook and Sammy Esposito.
Never miss a local story.
Holbrook tipped his hand the day before with a tweet that stated, “Dear The Drover, I’m placing my order-whiskey filet medium, baked potato, salad. We will be there at 8. We can’t wait to see you again!”
