South Carolina's weekend series loss to Kentucky didn't hurt the Gamecocks much in the rankings.
The Gamecocks (19-3, 3-3 SEC) dropped one spot to No. 2 in the newest Baseball America Top 25 . Kentucky (17-7, 3-3) climbed back into the Top 25 at No. 19.
USC won Sunday's finale against the Wildcats. The victory allowed the Gamecocks to move into in a five-way tie for first place in the SEC East with Kentucky, No. 7 Vanderbilt (20-5, 3-3), No. 22 Tennessee (19-4, 3-3), and Florida (15-9, 3-3).
Florida State (19-4) was 3-1 overall last week and climbed from No. 2 to No. 1 in the latest poll.
South Carolina returns to Carolina Stadium for five home games this week. The Gamecocks will play College of Charleston (16-7) on Tuesday, Coastal Carolina (11-13) on Wednesday, and Tennessee in the weekend series.
