Gamecock great and Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Melvin Ingram scored on a 76-yard fumble return in Saturday night’s NFL preseason game against the L.A. Rams:
The former South Carolina standout in June signed a four-year deal with the Chargers. The terms are four years for $66 million, according to reports.
The Chargers (then in San Diego) selected Ingram with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Never miss a local story.
Ingram is only the seventh player the Chargers had used their franchise tag on and the first since 2011, but the two sides were able to reach a deal on a long-term contract. He has 18.5 sacks and 32 tackles-for-loss in the last two seasons.
