What was it like to beat the No. 1 team in the nation?
It felt good because this is my second time doing it. Last year in high school, we beat St. Thomas Aquinas. I thought that was a good feeling. When we beat Alabama, it was just crazy. The whole Gamecock nation just went crazy.
How hard was it to get back to work on Kentucky?
We bounced back pretty quick. We know that (Alabama) game is in the past. We just had to get rid of that. We probably will see them again later in the season, so we are looking forward to it.
Never miss a local story.
What do you see from Kentucky’s defense?
They are a solid team. You can’t look past them. They came close to beating Auburn. They came close to beating a lot of good SEC schools, so we have to take them serious.
Do you believe you’re becoming more a part of the offense?
Yeah, I’m getting more comfortable. I am settling in. I am pretty comfortable with (the offense). It’s just getting in and playing at full speed, adapting to the college level.
Have you practiced any in the return game?
I am the No. 2 in the punt return behind Stephon (Gilmore), so if he goes down, I’ll do that. I help out here and there with the kick return, but it’s more on punt return.
