Marcus Lattimore and Spencer Lanning were recognized by the SEC on Monday for their efforts in South Carolina's win over Florida.
Lattimore was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Co-Freshman of the Week. He carried a school-record 40 times for 212 yards (8th highest in school history) and three TDs in South Carolina’s 36-14 win at Florida to win the SEC Eastern Division title. He also caught two passes for 31 yards.
On the season, he has a school freshman record for rushing yards in a season (964). His three touchdowns give him 16 on the season, breaking the school’s freshman record of 13 and tying for the school’s overall single season mark.
Lattimore shares the offensive honor with Auburn's Cam Newton and freshman recognition with Tennessee's Tyler Bray.
Lanning, South Carolina's senior kicker, was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goal attempts, hitting from 49, 47 and 41 yards out, all in the first half, in the win. He also punted six times for a 43.7 yard average with a long of 49 yards.
The average starting field position for Florida’s six drives started by Lanning’s punts was the 20-yard line.
