Seven Gamecocks selected for all-star games

Seven senior South Carolina standouts are taking part in post-season all-star games.
- East-West Shrine Game, St. Petersburg, Fla., on Jan. 19. Center T.J. Johnson and defensive end Devin Taylor are on the East squad. Playing for the West squad will be linebacker DeVonte Holloman. The NFL Network will telecast that contest, which kicks off at 4 p.m. ET from Tropicana Field.
- NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, Jan. 19, The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Representing the Gamecocks are placekicker Adam Yates and defensive tackle Byron Jerideau.
- Raycom College Football All-Star Classic, Jan. 19, at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. Linebacker Shaq Wilson will play for the “Stars” team in the inaugural game. The 3 p.m. ET contest will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
- Senior Bowl, Jan. 26 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. Safety D.J. Swearinger will participate in this game. The 4 p.m. ET kick will be televised on the NFL Network.
Parents Weekend, homecoming dates set
South Carolina on Wednesday announced that the home football game against Kentucky on Saturday, Oct. 5, will coincide with Parents Weekend, which runs Oct. 4-6.
Also, homecoming Week will culminate on Saturday, Nov. 2, when the Gamecocks take on Mississippi State. For more information on the events, contact the Department of Student Life at 803-777-5782.
