1. MIKE MIKE MIKE
Mike Davis has been rather pointed about his feelings for this game. He feels that he owes Florida something for not returning the loyalty he expressed to it early in the recruiting process. He remains the SEC’s leading rusher (by 20 yards over Auburn’s Tre Mason) and can keep chasing the rushing title as well.
2. THE OTHER GUYS
Georgia and Auburn play at 3:30, so USC will know how that game is going as its pulling up to Williams-Brice Stadium. If it’s Auburn, it’s more incentive to get Florida out of the way early. If it’s Georgia, USC has to look at it as its SEC championship hopes are almost snuffed, but they still have a great chance at a BCS bowl.
3. WILL HE OR WILL HE NOT?
Florida’s brass has been publicly supportive of embattled coach Will Muschamp, but if the Gators lose Saturday, Florida’s only hope at a bowl game is to upset Florida State. If Muschamp was a Tennessee coach and lost Saturday, he’d undoubtedly be turfed.
4. RECORD WATCHES
USC can set a school record for consecutive home wins at 16 on Saturday, and Connor Shaw can tie Todd Ellis with his 24th win as a starting quarterback. Records keep being set under coach Steve Spurrier.
5. BE SPECIAL
Joe Robinson has to be feeling the heat. USC was blown out in The Swamp last year mostly because of not holding onto the ball on special teams. Giving the Gators any kind of momentum would not be good. The best option might be to just take a knee.
