Freshman running back Kendric Salley, who redshirted last year and didn’t have a carry this season, is transferring, Steve Spurrier confirmed.
Salley, a three-star prospect from Williston-Elko High, indicated on Twitter Sunday night and Monday morning that he is headed to Presbyterian College, located in Clinton, SC.
“We might have another one or two” transfer, Spurrier said.
Salley traveled with the team and practiced on the scout team heading into the Capital One Bowl. On Wednesday, the day of the game, Salley said via Twitter: "My new story starts today it was great to be a Gamecock appreciate all the love and support!!!"
Never miss a local story.
Salley rushed for more than 5,000 yards and 90 touchdowns during his career at Williston-Elko and was part of USC's 2012 signing class.
"I ask God for an opportunity and he answered my prayers," Salley tweeted on Saturday.
