The senior quarterback was sacked twice, took other hits and was hurried nine times, completing 22-of-41 passes for 206 yards and scoring the game-winning touchdown on a rush.
The 278 yards allowed was the lowest total allowed by the defense this season.
A field goal block (Brison Williams) and punt block (Carlton Heard) were difference-making plays.
Sophomores Skai Moore and Jonathan Walton started at linebacker and each had 12 tackles, the most by any USC defender this season.

USC’s defense had six tackles for loss, the most since eight against Missouri, to go with the first sack since the win over Furman. Bryson Allen-Williams and Sharrod Golightly shared the sack.
The senior tight end returned from a second triceps injury to catch two passes for 27 yards.
The senior followed up a first punt of 20 yards with kicks of 54, 47, 41 and 40 yards.
Freshman cornerback Chris Lammons had a pair of 15-yard penalties: a pass interference and an unsportsmanlike call. Shaq Roland was flagged for an illegal block, Jonathan Walton for a late hit and Rory Anderson for offensive pass interference.
Sophomore Elliott Fry was 1-for-2 on field goals, missing from 47 yards in the third quarter. Fry is 1-for-4 on field goal attempts the past two games.
Florida quarterback Treon Harris fumbled after being sacked, but defensive linemen Deon Green was among those who didn’t pursue the loose ball.
Roland missed a deep ball, lost a fumble, was called for a block-in-the-back penalty on one rush and missed a block on a failed fourth-down rush attempt.
