Junior Brendan Nosovitch will take one more shot at playing quarterback this spring.
Nosovitch, a PARADE All-American at Central Catholic High School in Allentown, Pa., completed two passes in 2013 but was moved to tight end in 2014.
“He’s a pretty good runner,” Steve Spurrier told The State on Friday. “Hopefully, his passing has gotten a little bit better.”
If Nosovitch doesn’t win the quarterback job or at least secure a spot in the rotation, it is likely he’ll transfer.
“He probably should if he wants to play quarterback,” Spurrier said.
Cody Gibson Part II?
The Gamecocks lost an interior lineman and gained a tight end this month when junior Clayton Stadnik lost weight following a dental procedure. Stadnik, 6-3, played center last season, starting the final five games of the year at center while weighing 273 pounds.
“He’s running around with the tight ends now,” Spurrier said. “He might be like a 245-pound blocking tight end like Cody Gibson was last year.”
