Jon Hoke has entered the world of social media.
South Carolina's new co-defensive coordinator launched his own Twitter account on Thursday. A day later, he spoke to the world:
It's great to be here @GamecockFB— Jon Hoke (@CoachJonHoke) February 27, 2015
Never miss a local story.
Hoke's profile image @CoachJonHoke shows him already on the sideline wearing USC gear, including a black Under Armour windbreaker and a Gamecocks hat.
Social media has become an integral part of college athletics. For coaches, it's a way to follow high school prospects (and vice versa) and create another private line of communication.
As of Saturday morning, Hoke was still following the same four accounts: @GamecockFB ... @UofSC ... @GamecocksOnline ... and @RayTannerSC.
Hoke had 1,555 followers as of the same time Saturday. He has a ways to go to catch up with USC's other assistant coaches who are on Twitter.
