South Carolina knows kickoff times for its first three games.
The SEC announced TV and times for each of the league’s first three games on Thursday. The Gamecocks, who already knew they would open at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3 against North Carolina in Charlotte, had that game finalized for ESPN and discovered their next two start times.
USC will kick off against Kentucky at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network on Sept. 12 at Williams-Brice Stadium. The Gamecocks will kick off at 6 p.m. on ESPN on Sept. 19 at Georgia.
USC and the Tar Heels will renew a rivalry that began in 1903. UNC holds a 34-18-4 lead in the series but has lost two straight and five of six, including the last game (27-10 in Columbia, 2013).
The Gamecocks lead the Kentucky series 17-8-1, but frittered away a fourth-quarter lead last year in Lexington to lose 45-38. USC has won all but two games over the annual opponent Wildcats since 2000.
The highlight of USC’s 2014 season was a 38-35 win over Georgia, the fourth win in five years in the series. The Bulldogs lead the series 47-18-2 but the Gamecocks have gone 5-5 against them since Steve Spurrier arrived.
The rest of the schedule will be announced during the season. Unless they use a six-day exemption, TV networks are required to finalize kickoff times two weeks before the next game.
