When it comes to Stephen Garcia, that’s got a couple answers. We don’t know either of them, though.
First, and most importantly for all of you probably, is what’s next in his playing career. Wednesday’s indefinite suspension and head coach Steve Spurrier’s subsequent interview did little to shed light on that one.
A fifth suspension is enough to get a lot of players kicked off a team, but the Gamecocks coaches and administrators who made the decision to suspend Garcia probably would have booted him off the team Wednesday if that was the end game. It’s impossible to know for sure, though. We’ll try to track down Eric Hyman on Thursday and see if we can shed any light on that question.
The second “What next?” with Garcia is what more could possibly be coming down the pike. The senior sounded very believable two weeks ago when he guaranteed that his fourth suspension would be his last. Now we’re at five.
Is No. 6 far behind?
