DESTIN, Fla. | First-year Florida head coach Will Muschamp is going to be very popular in Columbia if he keeps this up.
Muschamp praised South Carolina’s Marcus Lattimore, Alshon Jeffery and Stephen Garcia on Tuesday while meeting with the media on the first day of the SEC spring meetings.
He spent most of his time on Lattimore.
“I think he’s outstanding,” Muschamp said. “I don’t think there’s any question that he’s the reason they were in Atlanta. You have Jeffery outside so they have some matchup problems for you outside, and I think Stephen Garcia has played very well at times.”
Never miss a local story.
Lattimore was good enough last year that he convinced even a noted passing game enthusiast like Steve Spurrier to turn the offense over to a running back, Muschamp pointed out.
“Lattimore is a special player,” Muschamp said. “They certainly would be a team that because of what I see coming back offensively that will need to be reckoned with.”
The Gamecocks will host Muschamp and the Gators on Nov. 12 in Williams-Brice Stadium.
