No South Carolina fan should be sad to see this week go.
Let’s review quickly. Tuesday was Steve Spurrier saying “the plan is” to be at South Carolina in 2015. Wednesday was Marcus Lattimore’s official retirement. Friday brought word that Jadeveon Clowney still is having trouble with his surgically repaired knee and more questions about when he’ll be back on the field.
All of this came while the Gamecocks are stewing in a 4-5 record and four-game SEC losing streak. A football-free weekend doesn’t sound so bad at the moment, does it? Enjoy it.
Around the SEC:
Even South Carolina natives had a bad week as Tennessee quarterback Justin Worley learned his college football career was over. Here, a Tennessee columnist lauds Worley for his toughness during a tough time for the Volunteers.
Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell is back in class after his devastating injury last week. That’s nice to see.
Now, Kenny Hill, or at least a source close to him, is claiming he has not hired Sean Salisbury as an advisor and quarterbacks coach. Man, this story is going to be fun to follow.
