South Carolina men’s basketball team will take a six-day foreign tour in Costa Rica, August 6-12, the school announced on Monday. The Gamecocks will play two games against the Costa Rica National Team and will have one day of combined practice with the Team while on the tour. They will two clinics, including one for Special Olympics. The trip is Carolina’s first foreign tour since 2008.
The S.C. Pro-Am, an event for college basketball players to go against other college players and refine their games during the summer, begins Sunday at Heathwood Hall. Fans can check out South Carolina’s new freshmen, as well as the Gamecocks’ returnees; plus see athletes from the other in-state schools.

Matt Figger, the Gamecocks’ recruiting coordinator throughout the Frank Martin era and associate head coach for the last three seasons, had his salary raised on Friday by the USC Board of Trustees. Figger will be paid $262,500 in the one-year deal, which was retroactively started in March.
