South Carolina basketball coach Frank Martin strongly pursued two players on the transfer market in May.
Grad transfer Mark Alstork, from Wright State, decided on Illinois. The other, 6-foot-5 undergrad transfer CJ Bryce from UNC-Wilmington, chose NC State on Saturday over the Gamecocks, according to multiple reports.
Bryce visited USC in mid May after visiting NC State, where his former coach at Wilmington is now the head coach.
Bryce is a native of Charlotte and will have to sit out this season, leaving him two years to play. He averaged 17.4 points per game last season and led UNCW to the NCAA Tournament. He was the MVP of the CAA Tournament and first team all conference.
