South Carolina star Devan Downey was held out of Tuesday's practice with an ankle injury, but is expected to play Wednesday against Florida, the team says.
The senior point guard wore a walking boot on Tuesday, but only for precautionary reasons. Downey rolled his ankle Monday after coming down wrong, according to team spokesman Emily Feeney.
Feeney said Downey was in good spirits.
Downey is averaging 23.0 points and 3.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game. In SEC play, he is averaging a league-high 30.9 points per game.
