Mason Harris’ monster senior season continues to grow.
The Ridgeland (Ga.) defensive end, who is committed to South Carolina, had another big effort in Friday’s 49-20 victory against Heritage (Ga.). He had seven tackles, including five solo stops, five sacks, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup and one quarterback hurry. He set the school’s single-game sack record.
Never miss a local story.
Harris has 95 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 14 sacks this season, even with opposing offenses keying on him.
“He’s just got a motor,” Ridgeland defensive coordinator Craig Pritchett said. “Usually, people are double- and triple-teaming him. He made a tackle 40 yards downfield from defensive end. He’s got great hands. He’s just good at using his hands to get separation.”
The Panthers improved to 8-1 with the win.
