The last SEC home game of the season for USC Saturday night will attract another solid group of prospects, including four uncommitted recruits making official visits.
The Gamecocks could come away from the weekend with several more commitments to add to the 22 they have already.
On official visits this weekend will be......
-- LB Lateek Townsend of Marlboro County | He's also taken an official visit to Southern Cal, but he's been favoring the Gamecocks and is putting out vibes that he might commit this weekend. After his game Friday night, he called USC a "10" on a scale of 1 to 10.
-- DE Jadeveon Clowney of South Pointe | The much talked about Clowney makes his first official visit this weekend and it's with the Gamecocks. No decision is expected immediately as Clowney plans to also take official visits to Alabama, Ohio State, Miami and Florida State.
-- LB Marcquis Roberts of Powder Springs, GA | Roberts has favored USC throughout the process. It helps the Gamecocks that he has family living just down the road from Williams-Brice Stadium. He's also been looking at West Virginia, Virginia and South Florida. There will be an effort made to get him to commit because of the Gamecocks' numbers. If he delays a decision too long, there might not be room.
-- TE Rory Anderson of Powder Springs, GA | Anderson is a teammate and close friends of Roberts. He made an unofficial visit for the Georgia game. He's had USC and Virginia at the top of his list. He also likes Tennessee, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and South Florida.
Players who have said they will make an unofficial visit Saturday include....
-- OL Kyle Harris of Lindale, GA | There's a strong chance he will commit on the visit. Since de-committing from Georgia Tech last month, USC has been the only school he's expressed strong interest in. This will be his second official visit since reopening his recruiting. Auburn and Tennessee have been trying to get involved.
-- OL Nathan Theus of Jacksonville, FL | He has been committed to Georgia since July but has started looking around a little bit. He's strictly a long snapper prospect, and it's not likely the Gamecocks would spend a scholarship strictly on a long snapper.
-- DB Kadetrix Marcus of Stone Mountain, GA | The Gamecocks continue lead over Tennessee, South Florida and West Virginia by a good margin. He wants to take official visits before finalizing a decision. The Gamecocks apparently are willing to wait on him.
-- TE Jerrell Adams of Scotts Branch | This will be his fourth game of the season at USC. The Gamecocks remain in strong shape with Clemson, Florida and Auburn also contenders.
-- DE Roderick Byers of Northwestern | USC is battling Georgia Tech and Clemson for Byers, who will be make his third in-season unofficial visit to USC.
-- DE Gerald Dixon of South Pointe, DL Gerald Dixon Jr. of Northwestern | No change with either of the Dixon brothers as both are expected to eventually commit to USC.
-- QB Shamier Jeffery of Calhoun County | Jeffery has been to every game at Williams-Brice this season. He'll set official visits with the Gamecocks, Auburn and Kentucky.
-- DL Phillip Dukes of Manning | Duke was in for the Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama games and his coach said he plans to be in for the Arkansas game. USC continues to lead Clemson. Those two will get official visits, and if he decides to take more, he'll look at Alabama, North Carolina and Miami.
The Gamecocks will also welcome in Saturday several of their committed players as well as prospects for the 2012 recruiting period.
