Recruit recap: Mitch finishes with 63 TD passes

A roundup of how several South Carolina football commitments performed in this weekend's games.

South Carolina has two future skill players committed in the class of 2013, but several defensive prospects also play offense in high school. Below is a roundup of how they performed in this weekend's games.

... Quarterback Connor Mitch (Wakefield High/Raleigh, N.C.) was 38-of-62 passing for 643 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in a 76-34 playoff loss. Mitch finished the season with 63 touchdown passes.

... Defensive back Pharoh Cooper (Havelock/Havelock, N.C.), who plays quarterback in high school, was 11-for-16 passing with 127 yards and a touchdown and interception, ran the ball four times for 39 yards and a score and had an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown in a 46-0 playoff win.

... Linebacker Larenz Bryant (Vance/Charlotte, N.C.), had an 81-yard interception return for a score in 35-14 playoff loss. He also had 13 carries for 127 yards, with two fumbles. He finished the season with 1,723 rushing yards.

... Running back Jamari Smith (Fletcher/Neptune Beach, Fla.) had seven carries for 65 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-12 regular-season win.

... Defensive back Brendan Langley (Kell/Marietta, Ga.), who plays offense as well, threw a 52-yard touchdown pass, ran for 82 yards and a score, and had three catches for 72 yards in a 53-21 regular-season win.
