Stanley stoked about All-American game

South Carolina offensive line commitment Donell Stanley of Latta High was officially selected Monday to play in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

South Carolina offensive line commitment Donell Stanley of Latta High was officially selected Monday to play in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Those selected will play in the game on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The annual East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 1 p.m. and feature 90 of the nation’s top high school football players.

“Stanley is a talented athlete whose leadership and teamwork qualities have made him a standout at Latta High School,” said Mark Davis, deputy assistant Secretary of the Army for Marketing. “Only the strongest wear the Army colors and we are proud to welcome all of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl players and commend each of them on their selection.”

Stanley was selected by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee, which consists of All American Games and 247Sports.

Linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams of Cedar Grove High in Ellenwood, Ga., is set to receive his jersey and official selection to the game on Tuesday. They join Gaffney quarterback Shaq Davidson as USC commitments in the U.S. Army game.

USC tight end pledge K.C. Crosby of Bamberg-Erhardt High will play in the Under Armour All-America Game.
