Marlboro County LB Lateek Townsend said earlier this week from the Army AA Game in San Antonio he would announce his college choice on Saturday. But his high school coach said Tuesday that may not be the case.
"He wants to visit one more place and may hold off," Dean Boyd said.
Townsend has set a visit to LSU for January 21st but his recruiter John Chavis has told him he doesn't want him to visit if he's made a commitment. Townsend has visited USC and Southern Cal officially and Clemson unofficially.
Boyd said if Townsend were to make a decision and announce Saturday, it would be one of the in-state schools. "I would think it would be USC or Clemson with a strong lean towards Clemson," he said. "I still think his strongest lean is towards Clemson. That's nothing he's told me. He's not told me anything."
Townsend was a standout performer in the Shrine Bowl. This season he had 134 tackles and 11 sacks.
