While USC has focused on Tanner McEvoy of New Jersey as a quarterback target, the Gamecocks also remain involved with quarterback Jacoby Brissett of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Brissett will make his official visit to USC next weekend, his coach said Thursday. Brissett is not taking a visit anywhere this weekend.
As for Jan. 28, his coach said Brissett is looking at Miami, Florida and Washington for that weekend.
Florida State is also a major player, but Brissett won't take an official visit there because he's plenty familiar with the program.
Jimbo Fisher has had his in-home visit with Brissett, and his coach said USC coach Steve Spurrier may be in next week.
Coach Jack Daniels said Brissett is strongly interested in USC.
"He has talked about wanting to take a visit there for a long time," the coach said. Daniels said Brissett does not have a favorite.
"He's completely wide open," he said.
The coach is not sure when Brissett will make his decision.
He's also a basketball player and a former teammate of USC's Ramon Galloway in that spot. He'd like to play both sports in college.
