South Pointe DE Jadeveon Clowney will make an official visit to Alabama this weekend and will likely take visits the final two weekends of the month.
But based on information gathered Thursday from two seperate, non-connected sources, it appears at this time Clowney is planning to sign with USC. Both sources said based on the information provided to them right now, Clowney is headed to USC. But Clowney will not commit early and will take his announcement to Signing Day.
Clowney and his mother will fly out of Charlotte early Friday afternoon for Birmingham and will then make the short drive to Tuscaloosa. South Pointe coach Bobby Carroll will join them on the trip but will go on a different flight. Clowney will not meet with any recruiters Friday before his departure because there is no school that day.
Once in Tuscaloosa, Clowney will meet up with good friend and USC commmitment OL Brandon Shell of Goose Creek. Shell had not planned to visit Alabama but Clowney asked him at the Shrine Bowl to join him on the visit, so he agreed to go.
Shell and his mother will drive up from the Lowcountry Friday. Shell's visit, according to a source, is not expected to affect his commitment to USC.
