South Pointe DE Jadeveon Clowney sat back today and watched as players all around the country signed up with their school of choice. Clowney, of course, is not signing until February 14th.
Clowney did make an appearance on ESPUN Wednesday afternoon where he answered questions for about five minutes. During the exchange Clowney said Clemson was stronger with him coming off his official visit there last month. Clowney said he also was impressed with some of the Tigers' signees and it's affected his thinking about the Tigers.
"It makes me want to go there, too," Clowney said. "Let's me know I got people on my team trying to win just like me." Clowney said Clemson, USC and Alabama are the three he's focused on and talked about what appealed to him from USC. "They are close to home," he said. "I'd have some former teammates to play with and I like them a lot."
Clowney made official visits to USC, Alabama and Clemson. LSU and North Carolina have been trying to get him to visit but his coach said Wednesday night Clowney probably won't take any more visits.
"It's likely the visitation stuff is over," Bobby Carroll said. "He's just going to sit back for the next 12 days and decide." In the past Carroll has been forceful in his believe Clowney will sign with USC. Wednesday night his opinion wasn't as strong. "I've got a gut feeling they might have an edge," he said.
Carroll spent most of Wednesday with Clowney and his parents
