Dillon WR Kwinton Smith (6-5 195) is coming off a strong junior season that has pushed him towards the top of the list of the state's top prospects. Smith caught 45 passes for 830 yards and 15 touchdowns last season in helping lead the Wildcats to the 2A state championship game.
He broke the school record for receptions and touchdowns. "He's got all the tools," said his coach Jackie Hayes. "He's a good route runner, he recognizes coverages and he has great hands. And he creates bad matchup problems."
Smith also is a big time baseball talent and is projected to go early in the 2012 draft.
He has football offers right now from Wake Forest and NC State according to Hayes. Clemson, USC and Florida are also interested and he's visited each. He was supposed to visit Wake Forest two weeks ago but attended a baseball pro day instead.
Smith is not indicating a favoring according to his coach.
