QB Trenton Norvell (6-4 215) of Daytona Beach was at USC's junior day and says the Gamecocks are showing a lot of interest in him.
"I talked to (Steve) Spurrier, Jr. and (G.A.) Mangus a lot while I was there and they told me they were going to be recruiting me hard," said Norvell. "They said I was one of the top three quarterbacks on their board."
Norvell has yet to receive an offer but says one may be on its way soon. "My coach told me he thinks Purdue is going to offer me tomorrow," he said. Norvell is also hearing from Georgia and Florida, where he attended junior days, as well as Clemson, Notre Dame, and West Virginia. "I am definitely going to visit West Virginia in March," he added.
Norvell says he does not have any favorites but has the Gamecocks high on his list. "I am really glad they're interested," he said. "My sister went to school there so I know a lot about them. I like where coach (Steve) Spurrier is taking the program."
