DB Devontre Parnell (6-1 175) of Fairfield Central is one of three players hearing from several schools. "He is our best athlete," said defensive line coach Scotty Dean. "He has all of the tools you want in a defensive back."
Parnell is hearing from Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Penn State. He recently took a trip with his teammates, OL Ryan Raley and OL Iyan Roseborough. "One of our coaches took the three down to Clemson and they've been to Carolina too," said Dean.
Parnell scored four touchdowns on special teams and defense last season. "I know he ran a couple of punts back, a kick off back, and picked up a fumble and ran it back 85 or 90 yards," Dean added.
OL Ryan Raley (6-3 300) is hearing from Clemson, USC, Maryland, Illinois, and NC State. "He is one of those players you don't have to worry about finishing a play," said Dean. "He will finish his block. He is a strong kid that plays with heart and emotion."
OL Iyan Roseborough (6-4 300) is hearing from Clemson, USC, Maryland, Nebraska, Duke, Texas, and Central Florida. "He can move and is real quick," Dean said. "He is a smart kid. He does all of the little things you ask of him and has good technique." Dean was unsure is any of the three had a favorite.
