Former Florida running back Mike Blakely said Wednesday he's heard from about 15 schools since announcing Tuesday he was leaving the Gator program.
Blakely said West Virginia, Southern Cal and South Florida were among the schools to contact him.
"I'm telling any school to talk to my coach," Blakely said. He is still in Gainesville after returning for the start of the Summer 1 session.
Blakely said he was not released to transfer to another SEC school, which eliminates two of his other finalists from his high school recruiting, USC and Auburn.
"I like South Carolina and Auburn, but I would have to go to junior college first," Blakely said.
Clemson also offerered him out of high school but he said he's not heard from the Tigers.
Blakely (5-9 193) of Bradenton, Fla., is a former teammate of current Gamecock wide receiver Ace Sanders.
In his last two seasons of high school, Blakely rushed for more than 2,400 yards and scored 42 touchdowns.
