Bamberg-Ehrhardt DE Martin Aiken said Tuesday night he's looking at at date in July for making his commitment. "I'm close to setting a date," Aiken said. "I'm going to narrow to a top five soon, me and David (DeLeon)...sometime in June."
Aiken said he's most interested in Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech, Auburn and Tennessee, the schools he's visited thus far. As for the in state battle, Aiken said there's no leader. "I'm going to stay open to both of them. They are both real good schools. That's going to be a tough decision to make, which of my in state schools is going to be a leader."
Aiken said he will try to visit Miami of Ohio, Illinois, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech this summer. And he said he could leave the state just as easy as staying within the borders.
He said the primary factor for him in choosing a school will be the atmosphere. "In Bamberg, it's a family atmosphere and that's what I want to find," he said. "I want to be where there will be some blue-collar workers, guys not afraid to get dirty."
