TE Kelvin Rainey of Yulee, FL was speeding towards a decision thru much of the spring but has downshifted a bit as summer approaches.
"Things are heating up," Rainey said. "Some schools have come by and are turning my head. I had to slow down. I'm taking my time and looking around. I'm still big on South Carolina, but things are slowing down."
Rainey said the emergence of Arkansas and North Carolina on his list has given him reason to look around a bit more. USC, Georgia and Miami are the other top schools on his list. And there is no order to the schools right now. Rainey, who talked with USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. last weekend, plans to visit USC, Arkansas, North Carolina and Miami. A decision may not come before September.
Rainey is being recruited for tight end and linebacker. He prefers tight end and that's the position USC is recruiting him for.
