South Carolina's top quarterback target, Brendan Nosovitch of Allentown, Pa., will be in Columbia on Thursday for the school's first major camp of the summer.
"I am going to work out," Nosovitch said. "Not so much to show them what I can do, but I want to see how they coach."
Nosovitch talked with Gamecock quarterbacks coach and his recruiter G.A. Mangus a couple of days ago. The two have developed a strong relationship, and Mangus has let Nosovitch know where he fits on their board at quarterback.
"I’m the guy they want first and foremost," he said. "They’ve been recruiting me pretty hard and I’m liking South Carolina more and more"
Never miss a local story.
This will be his second visit to USC. He made an unofficial visit in April.
Developments at two other offering schools have made Nosovitch’s decision a little easier.
He's aware that Chad Kelly is on the verge of committing to Clemson, so that has cooled his interest in the Tigers. And Virginia just took a quarterback commitment.
"I’m not sure what that means for me right now," he said. "They are going to let me know where I stand and everything."
Georgia Tech is another school Nosovitch has been offered by, and he said he might visit Atlanta while he’s in the South.
As for when a decision might come, Nosovitch said it would happen before his season, maybe the end of this month or in July.
