South Carolina has the lead for its top quarterback prospect Brendan Nosovitch of Allentown, Pa., after he and his father visited Columbia on Thursday.
Nosovitch spent the morning competing at the USC camp, then got the chance to hang out with Steve Spurrier and G.A. Mangus.
"It was good working with Coach Mangus and Coach Spurrier," Nosovitch said. "I had lunch with them and then we met in Coach Spurrier's office. He talked about the options I have and South Carolina being in the SEC. It was a good trip and a good visit. I feel like South Carolina is the one I like the most right now."
In fact, Nosovitch is closing in on making a final decision. He said it will come down to the Gamecocks and Maryland. He plans to visit College Park early next week.
"I'm getting closer to deciding," he said. "I might go to Maryland next week, maybe Tuesday. That might be the last visit. It will come down to those two."
Nosovitch doesn't have a date in mind for an announcement, and he said he won't have a press conference. He will just alert the coaches at the school he has chosen.
