Quarterback Brendan Nosovitch of Allentown, Pa., attended Maryland’s camp earlier this week and had the chance to meet up with some of the new staff.
“He had an opportunity to meet the offensive coordinator and he spent some time with him and Coach [Randy] Edsall,” Nosovitch’s father said. “We drove around the campus a little bit.”
Maryland just took a commitment from Blue Ridge High quarterback Caleb Rowe, but the Terps remain interested in Nosovitch. Right now, however, his interest is more with South Carolina, and a commitment may not be far off.
“There’s no doubt South Carolina has always been very high on his list and that remains the case,” Gene Nosovitch said. “He’s getting closer and closer to a decision. Assuming nothing else crops up, I think you’ll see him making a decision with a couple of weeks, maybe in early July. But he wants to get comfortable with his decision and he wants to have more discussions with Coach [G.A.] Mangus.”
Nosovitch has previously said Mangus told him he is the No. 1 quarterback prospect on the USC board. He was at a USC camp last week where he worked out in front of Mangus and head coach Steve Spurrier.
