LB Adam Ah Ching (6-1 223) of Greer is waiting on his first written offer but has several schools showing a lot of interest.
According to Rob Neilsen, a family friend helping Ah Ching through the recruiting process, he has received several verbal offers. "A lot of schools are saying that when school starts, they want to get him on campus and make him an offer," Neilsen said. "We're not looking to wait until February. His family is ready for him to be committed this year. If USC were to get up here and show they want him, I think he could commit."
Neilsen named USC, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Duke and Arkansas as the schools showing the most interest in Ah Ching and added that these were his top five in no order.
This summer, Ah Ching took several visits and attended several camps. Some of the schools he saw were Nebraska, Notre Dame, NC State and Utah. "We couldn't get down to USC because there always seemed to be a scheduling conflict," Neilsen said. "But we know we can get down there anytime during the season since it's just 90 miles from home."
USC has extended an invitation to Ah Ching to attend some games this year, according to Neilsen, and he plans to do so. Other schools showing interest in the Upstate linebakcer are Colorado and Rutgers.
